Gum Disease: Try using an antiseptic mouthwash every day, but if you have swollen gums you probably have gum disease. You should visit a dentist to diagnose this properly. You may require a deep cleaning, called scaling and root planing, by your dentist to treat the problem.

Scaling & hygiene : Scaling and root planing are non surgical therapies for swollen gums ( gingivitis). Also nutritional counseling, oral hygiene instructions, and laser therapies are very common adjunct treatments. Professional dental treatment & examination is imperative, as this symptom can lead to permanent tooth loss.
