Swollen gums: There are several reasons for swollen gums. ie; bacteria under gums, mouth breather, medications, pregnancy gingivitis, clenching teeth etc.. xrays and an exam can help us determine the problem. Dont try to figure this out yourself get professional help, see you're dentist.

Poor Oral Hygiene: Poor oral hygiene is the most common cause,leading to gum disease & swollen gums.Consult your dentist & get proper treatment.Also maintain immaculate oral hygiene by brushing your teeth after every meal,flossing once a day,cleaning your tongue twice a day.Avoid sodas,sugery drinks, candies etc.Some medications can lead to swollen gums.People with epilepsy, taking Dilantin may present swollen gums.
