Why is my baby nursing less?

It depends: Depending on the age of your baby and what is going on, there are a number of possibilities. In a newborn, if your baby is sick, poor feeding may be a symptom. In an older infant who is eating solid foods, your baby may be getting more calories from the solids and more physically active (and also more efficient at nursing), so the feedings may be spreading apart. Good weight gain is a great sign.

Lactation consultant: Insurances usually pay for lactation consultation with a lactation nurse. Often lactation nurses come to your home and teach you many great techniques.
