Unlikely : If only one sore. Shingles tends to cause a lot more blisters/sores and the lip is not a very common place for it.

No: Shingles will give you painful sores up the side of your face for a month. If you are bothered by recurring herpes on the lip, you can get a chapstick with sunscreen & use it several times a day. You can get prescription 1 gram tabs of valacyclovir.: take 2 at the first tingling warning of your next attack. This will make it milder.
