Just like any surger: Your doctor will give you instructions as to what should be done, if anything, pre-operatively. If this is general anesthesia, then you will be fasting. After surgery you will probably need to elevate your foot and limit weight bearing. How much will depend on what is being removed. You doctor will give you much more detailed information.
