Nail will fall off: Your question is a little confusing, but i think you're asking what happens to your damaged nail if you don't remove it. A new nail will start growing from the back (near the cuticle). It will most likely grow under the damaged nail, ultimately forcing it to fall off--or it will kind of fuse and be two nails until the dead nail eventually grows out and you trim it off. This takes 6-12 months.
