Jibberish: Patients who have spasticity can be described in many ways. Hemiplegia means that half of the body is involved. Diplegia means two limbs - usually the legs - are involved. Quadriplegia means that all four limbs are involved. Some doctors use the term of bilateral hemiplegia for patients with both sides of the body involved but one side more than other - bilateral quadriplegia does not exist.
