A member asked:

Is it recommended that i take prednisone before a dental appointment?

Maybe: But only if you are chronically taking Prednisone for a medical condition. Then you may have to double the dose before an appointment that may involve surgery or another procedure. It is best to consult your dentist and physician if you are on prednisone. Please don't self-medicate.

Talk to your dentist: This is something you need to discuss with your dentist and physician. People do not routinely take Prednisone or steriods before dental appointments. However, if you are on long term Prednisone you may need to increase the dosage for dental treatment. Talk to your dentist, he or she will advise.
