Currently on 7.5mg of prednisone (started with 10mg 2 weeks ago and tapering weekly), and will be on 5mg in 48 hours when im having dental work requiring anesthesia. should i reschedule appt until after ive completed the taper?

I would not. I consider that a minimal dose, unlikely to effect anything.

Your medication will not interfere with your Dental treatment, nor will your Dental treatment interfere with your medication. As a matter of routine, inform all of your health care practitioners of all of your Meds, Rx, OTC, Recreational. Your Dentist will probably also know why you are taking any and all meds. Be forthcoming.
