A 69 year old woman has a foot pain that is going up her leg and its swollen. on a scale of 1-10, the pain is a 7.what should be done?

There are many : Reasons a foot can swell. A visit to an internist or podiatrist would be a good idea.

Seek medical care: Many causes of foot/leg pain with edema(swelling). Deep venous clot needs to be ruled out. Recommend trip to the er.

ASAP Evaluation: Must rule out a blood clot. Swelling and calf pain will requre a ultrasound to check for a blood clot.
