Yes: If several have alzheimer, particularly at early ages, then you may want to consider gene (dna) testing. Enter omim in browswer, search on alzheimer, look at alz-1, 2, and 3 entries for genes involved. On right of entry hit link to genetests that shows labs doing testing. I strongly recommend seeing a clinical geneticist or neurologist to discuss the value and burden of testing.

Maybe: There is now a pet scan material called Amyvid that can reportedly show the amyloid deposition in your brain possibly 20 years before any symptoms begin.

Amyvid: Fyi, there is an Amyvid scan which measures beta amyloid plaque burden in the brain. A negative result on this scan does not mean that you will not develop alzheimer's disease in the future. A positive study means that you have amyloid plaques in the brain however these plaques are not specific to alzheimer's disease and may be seen in other types of dementia.
