Very common: If he is not having fever, appearing sick, and he is eating fine, i would just monitor him for now. Likely a mild viral gastroenteritis (stomach bug) which wll resolve. Children do get sick--colds, diarrhea, vomitting, ear infections etc... All the time and most will resolve with just supportive measures. If he gets worse over next couple of days, then take him to the doc. Good luck.
