Hyperventilation: One of the main symptoms of panic attacks in many people -- hyperventilation -- can cause numbness and tingling around the mouth and extremities. When this happens, some people breathe in a paper bag and the symptoms go away.

Reduced blood: During panic episodes the hpa axis results in blood being reduced at the bodies surface. In addition to numbness and tingling, the skin tends to become pale in appearance, this also due to reduced blood at the surface.
