None should occur!: Gout is completely remmitible. You should be on a uric acid lowering drug (s), and one pill of Colchicine per day at a minimum. Nsaids and steroids (by injection or orally) are given for pain and acute inflammation. Afterwards, the need to lower uric acid is lifelong, and if managed properly, it should not affect sporting activities, provided joint damage is not significantly present.

See a doctor: And let them check your uric acid levels and take meds to keep these levels below 6.0. Be proactive with preventing the attacks and your running career will continue.Mthe more attacks you have the greater the chance of destroying your joints/bones, which can potentially incapacitate you from running.
