No, Sx are quite...: Different. Gerd is worse after eating. Thyroid pain is not. Gerd responds to otc prilosec. Thyroid pain does not. In fact, very, very few patients with thyroiditis have such an inflammatory response that they have pain. So really quite different.

Completely different: Different history, physical findings, laboratory tests. Can't tell unless you go to the doc and get examined.
