Maybe: It can be a symptom but there are many other reasons for weight loss. A thorough evaluation should be done by a qualified physician to determine the cause of the weight loss.

Cancer weight loss: We always try primarily to rule out cancer in any case of unexplained weight loss, not only colon. Once we rule out cancer, any other cause will not be as severe or deadly.
