Sure: Anything that affects one's breathing can also affect the spirometry test results. A person with underlying asthma symptoms, who catches a cold, will likely display worse spirometry readings due to increased asthma symptoms.

Yes: If you have asthma or chronic bronchitis and you develop a bronchial infection the spirometry result may be different than your baseline. But that is it necessarily a bad thing as you want to know how bad things can get for you.
