Keep the ear dry: An itchy ear can be a sign of an infection or a recent injury. Best way to tell is have the ear examined. To prevent infections keep it dry by placing a waterproof ear plug or place cotton in the ear and seal the outside with vaseline. Long term a tympanoplasty which closes the hole may reduce the issues and improve healing.
