A member asked:

What could cause the iris to look dark and faded after suffering a thermal burn?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably the cornea: I presume the thermal burn occurred to the cornea. Following a burn, the cornea will look opaque from edema or swelling. Viewed through a swollen cornea, the iris can appear faded.
