Root replacements: Dental implants are titanium screws, carefully inserted into the jawbones by a trained dental surgeon. The implants form a biological bond to healthy bone, allowing the restorative dentist to fabricate dental prostheses replacing a missing tooth, missing teeth, or stabilize removable dentures.

Not painful: If performed by formally-trained surgeons, the procedure is not significantly painful. The is certainly some post-operative discomfort, but often not significant compared to other dental procedures, such as root canal therapy, etc.

Root replacement: A dental implant is a"man-made" tooth root replacement, made of titanium, used in dentistry to support restorations that resemble a tooth or group of teeth to replace missing teeth. It is used to anchor a crown, bridge, or denture.

Synthetic Roots: A dental implant is a specially fabricated titanium cylinder designed to replace the root of a natural tooth. It can be placed w/o pain when a tooth is extracted or after healing. It takes 3-4 months for it to fuse to one's jaw bone. At the time of osteo-integration, an implant can than be used to replace a single tooth or multiple implants can be used to anchor a segment or even an arch of teeth.

Titanium roots: You might think of them as titanium roots, replacing missing tooth roots. They are titanium cylinders with threads (like a screw) that are surgically placed into the bone. After healing, they provide a foundation on which teeth can be built. 2 or more can support a bridge, 4 or more can support a full arch of teeth. More info @ bydesigndental.Com. Good luck.
