Yes: It is not necessary to be put to sleep for a wisdom tooth extraction. There is no pain, just a feeling that something is being done to you, painlessly. It is harder for the dentist to both put you to sleep and take out your tooth than just to do the extraction only. Do not complicate the dentist's attention by requesting to be put to sleep. Do not incur the added expense of general anesthesia.
