Talk to your doc: Your doc is in best position to offer advice about your condition. In general, depression is common complication of chronic pain, as people wear down. This causes cycle of decreased pain tolerance and more depression. Antidepressant medications are an often used adjunct in chronic pain treatment and can treat depression. Seek help: Depression or adjustment disorder with deptessed mood is common after such events especially when it's hard to com to terms with. Psychotherapy should be helpfull in dealing with the trauma. If that doesn't help you may need antidepressant medications. I hope severe eye trauma did not involve your brain, as that itself can be cause of depression and may not respond to psychotherapy alone.
