Ambien (zolpidem): Ambien (zolpidem) does affect sleep stages (i.e. Patterns) and dreaming. It is less so than some other medications prescribed for sleep but it does cause changes to sleep structure.

Yes: Though zolpidem (ambien) is primarily used for insomnia it can have other effects on sleep including sleepwalking. Discuss with your doctor if you have concerns. There are many alternatives.
