Ambien (zolpidem): Ambien (zolpidem) does affect sleep stages (i.e. Patterns) and dreaming. It is less so than some other medications prescribed for sleep but it does cause changes to sleep structure.
Dr. John Moranville
Psychiatry 36 years experience
Yes: Though zolpidem (ambien) is primarily used for insomnia it can have other effects on sleep including sleepwalking. Discuss with your doctor if you have concerns. There are many alternatives.
