No. It is also a BRA: Ambien (zolpidem) is a Benzodiazepine Receptor Agonist .Acts at the SAME receptor, GABA, that Ativan & Klonopin (benzodiazepines ) do. ALL are addictive,with physiological dependence , rebound insomnia upon abrupt discontinuation as also serious " withdrawal symptoms" including but not limited to Seizures , insomnia and delirium . Let your doc taper you off Ambien (zolpidem) & use TRAZODONE for insomnia .
