Yes: The fist thing you can do is just wrap the wrist lightly and decrease repetitive use to see if this changes anything. You doctor can drain the cyst in the office with a local anesthetic, low risk. The cyst can recur after aspiration. If it remains persistent and bothersome or increases in size-should be removed surgically.

Yes: Yes, surgery is not required for a ganglion unless it is compressing an important neighboring structure. Sometimes they just pop spontaneously or during activity.
