Be seen: Only way to know is to have a throat culture which can be done in the office. Most primary care offices offer a rapid strep test.

Can't tell: Strep throat is one type of sore throat. There are many causes, mostly viruses and a few other bacteria besides strep. See your doctor to get evaluated so you can get appropriate treatment. No symptom is specific for strep, so testing is necessary to be sure.
