A member asked:

When lying in bed, is it advisable to wear hose stockings, plus to have feet up resting on pillows? or feet up without hose? or hose without pillows?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

I assume: You are doing all this to combat swollen extremities. Elevation of feet is helpful. The hoosiery does not have to be worn at night. It is meant to wear when standing to combat effects of gravity. True elevation is above heart level so the pillows are a good idea. It too though may not be necessary. Most of the time when people awake they have no swelling in the morning with no pillow as well.
