Cold hands...warm...: Temperature is controlled by the nervous system. Brain sends signals to your extremities to monitor how much blood gets around. It is not an uncommon problems at all. If there is any pain associated with this, you may want to get your legs checked. Being in Texas, it would be hard to say that you have Raynaud's phenomenon...but it could be possible.
