Memory practices: I agree with dr. Ali and dr. Sparacino about repetition -- especially with colors and any other thing that brings in more senses (hearing, visual, touch, rhythm, even taste or smell, etc). The more engagement, the more retention. Reviewing lecture notes within 12 hours of the class will allow more to sink in as well. And, getting good sleep between study sessions will help you build retention.

Understand: For course content, understand the 'why''s rather than memorizing. For rote work, use the material for some purpose. I can't memorize a random phone number no matter how hard i try, but if it's somebody i like and i dial it a few times, it's easy to remember.

What are the best latching techniques?
3 doctor answers • 4 doctors weighed in

Dr. Laura Webbanswered
Pediatrics 13 years experience
Is it comfortable?: Ask yourself this- if you are not comfortable the latch is not correct. However briefly a good latch typically involves mom sitting upright with feet flat on the floor, no clothing in the way and baby at the same level of the breast. Introduce the areola (not nipple!) to the baby. The nipple should be tilted to the level of baby's nose. Baby's mouth should be open wide during sucking.

Glass or plastic: You can use any bottle you choose, depending on what you believe to be the safest. Disposable bpa free drop-in bags are also a good option.

Soap and water: Just clean it after each use with mild soap and water. Better not to use any toxic cleaners.

Is craniosacral therapy best for someone with tmj?
5 doctor answers • 8 doctors weighed in

Dr. Howard Banneranswered

Helpful adjunct: Craniosacral therapy can be a very helpful adjunct to TMJ therapy. The problem is that if there is a vertical or anterior/posterior problem with the jaws when biting, the adjustments will not be effective for long periods of time. These jaw to jaw discrepancies must be dealt with too.
