About a month: After the ingrown section of a toenail is cut away, the wound will settle down after a few days. One must be sure to have a doctor look at it then to check for infection and for proper healing. After that, the wound should look better every day, but probably won't look all healed until about a month later. After it has healed, it may improve in appearance over another couple of months.

2-6 weeks: Depends on how the nail was removed and whether it was a temporary or permanent removal. Usually a temporary removal will hel in a couple of weeks. A permanent chemical procedure can take 1-2 months. Discuss with your doctor what you may expect. Dr l.
