Risk is a new keloid: Scar revision is very safe. The biggest risk of scar revision is that the keloid will recur. There are precautions your plastic surgeon can take to minimize this risk including closing the skin with minimal tension, treating the new scar with steroids or 5-fu, using silicone sheets or applying pressure. Laser treatments can also help reduce post-operative scarring.

Multiple: Revision of a keloid scar from previous neck surgery is a reasonably safe procedure, but probably the two biggest risks would be keloid recurrence, possibly even larger than your current scar, or if you were to have some type of complication such as an infection or problem with your anesthetic. But succes rate is probably greater than 90 percent. Thank you for the question.
