What's the likely outcome of scleral buckle?

Retinal reattachment: A scleral buckle is a silicone band placed around the eye to foster adhesion of the retinal to its normal place after a retinal detachment. In most cases this is effective and a detached retina is restored to normal adhesion. Your retinal surgeon will emplace this and evaluate the progress.

Reattached Retina: This surgery is effective about in 90% of cases. Occasionally, additional surgery may be needed to get the retina back in position. The buckle can also change the glasses prescription, making the patient more near-sighted. Double vision can rarely be a complication.
