Probably will be ok: As long as the metal bracket doesn't go down the lung, the gastrointestinal tract will clear the swallowed bracket. However of you experience any wheezing or chest pain, go to the emergency immediately.

It will pass: Most of the time the orthodontic brackets will pass through your GI system and end up in your stool. However, if it does not or you are concerned then an abdominal xray may be in order.

Chest XRAY: You need to get a chest xray to make sure that you did not aspirate it into your lung. Most of the time it is in your stomach and will pass, but if it is in your lung it is a medical emergency and must be removed. Get a chest xray immediatelyaspiration.
