A member asked:

I am 4 weeks pregnant and just read that too much vitamin a is not good. my vitamin contains 3000 iu. i have been taking 2 a day. is this too much?

Keep under 10,000/da: The key words are "too much" - at high doses vitamin a can cause birth defects and liver toxicity. The government considers 10, 000 iu (3000 micrograms) to be the maximum safe daily dose during pregnancy, so you should be ok - but to be safe, consider decreasing your vitamin to once a day, which is probably the recommended dosage anyway.
