Yes: if it was prescribed by your gyn and it is a prenatal vitamin then it's safe to take.

Yes, but I bet no A!: Adequate Vitamin A is essential for good heath & a healthy baby. However taking more than 10,000 iu/day of Vit A in early pregnancy increases risk of birth defects. Up to 6000 iu/day is safe but i bet your prenatal has NO vit A but instead beta carotene ( a vit A precursor) which is not dangerous at all. See http://tinyurl.com/nfce9ef
