Floating mechanism: Drownproofing is a method for surviving in water disaster scenarios without sinking or drowning. The technique involves practicing keeping the lungs hyperinflated in water (subject floats in a near-relaxed position, raises himself up with hands to take a breath, then floats back with mouth at the level of water surface). Practice several times.

Humans can drown: No human can be drown-proofed, especially not babies nor children. Teaching people to swim should be fun and low stress. To call any method drown-proofing gives parents a false sense of security about their children being around water. It takes 20 years to raise a child, but less than 2 minutes to lose one to drowning.
