A member asked:

Is it possible to drown on your own blood if you have been in a dangerous accident?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Unfortunately, any injury that leads to a large amount of blood getting into the airway can lead to "drowning". In addition, blood is very irritating to the airway and can lead to severe bronchconstriction (as in asthma) which if untreated may also lead to death.
