A member asked:

Can you switch from coumadin (warfarin) to plavix instead?

It depends: Both Plavix and Coumadin (warfarin) "thin" the blood but do so via different mechanisms and degrees. The choice of one medication over another depends on your underlying condition and specific risk profile. In other words, you would have to discuss with a doctor the specifics of your case.

Depends: Depends why you are taking coumadin, (warfarin) but usually not. In any case both of those meds are usually taken for serious medical condition, so you need to check with the doctor who put you on medicine.
