A few things: You may have a cavity, gum disease, a broken tooth or a broken filling (if one is present). Hope you see a dentist soon. Good luck.

Impossible: From what you described it can be any number of things. Cavity? Infection? Gum disease? Please provide more info or find a way to see a dentist.

Advil/tylenol: If you alternate 200 mg advil or Ibuprofen with 2 extra strength tylenol (acetaminophen) you will have very good pain control until tomorrow. Please see your dentist as soon as possible because pain is often a sign of infection.

Yes: "why", unfortunately, is neglect. Frequent tooth aches suggest advanced dental caries (cavities) that have gone untreated. By the time it hurts, its\'s been there a long time. Please see dentist asap to have infected areas addressed. Remember dentistry isn't expensive, neglect is.
