A member asked:

Is my pain arising from a wisdom tooth breaking out, or is it an abscess?

Swelling?: Pain alone often is not associated with an abscess. Swelling and/ or tenderness of the affected area would be more convincing of an abscess. Having a low-grade fever would help confirm it. It is possible at your age to have an impacted wisdom tooth causing the problem but no way to know for sure without seeing a dentist for x-ray and evaluation.

Tough to say: Without being able to visualize your mouth and examining a radiograph, it is virtually impossible to answer what is happening in your mouth. That's why you need to make an appointment with a local dentist.
