Go to a specialist: On occassion a file will break in the canal of the root, many times the file can be bypassed and as long as the roots get sealed to the apex (tip) the therapy will work out fine. A root canal specialist, an endodontist is the best at handling these situations.

Listen: It is not what should you do, it's what your dentist has told you to do & especially if you are not having any symptoms. He has explained it to you. Call him if you do not understand what he has explained to you. If a dentist does enough root canal treatment he will experience file separation (cleaning needle breakage). This happens.
