Here are some things: Have pain medications and antibiotics in hand ready to be taken. Make a clear path to the rest room. Elevate the foot of your bed by stuffing pillows, blankets, wedge under mattress at the feet- you will need to elevate foot a lot- it helps with swelling and pain. Pre-make a few ice packs by placing ice cubes ; some water in zip lock bags and freezing them. Have someone around to help you around.
