How can i know my baby is getting enough milk from my breasts?

Urine: By how many wet diapers she has in a 24 h period. Also, by evidence of weight gain. After a 3-5 days of breast feeding, your baby should have at least 6 wet diapers a day (note: how many stool, does not matter!).

Weigh the baby: If your baby is gaining weight (about 1 oz/day), that is evidence that the baby is getting adequate amount of nutrition. Does your baby wet diaper several times a day (4-5 or more /day)?. That is another sign that the baby is getting adequate amount of fluid, unless the baby has diarrhea (i expect that infant's stool may be very soft, but it should not be like pure water).

Happy: If teh baby appears satisfied between feedings every 2-3 hours or better, wetting 5 or more times a day and gaining weight properly, then they are getting enough.
