Depends: Socially--absolutely, since a common symptom of infection in the gums (periodontal disease) is halitosis, or bad breath. Physically, there are conflicting reports that tie periodontitis to diabetes and heart disease--both of which have health (and sex life) implications. The only cure for gum disease is extraction, so control it with professional help, or have the teeth removed, your choice.

Probably: You won't look and feel your best with loose, drifting, plaque and calculus covered teeth, bleeding gums, teeth that hurt, and bad breath, nor will that be appealing to your partner. What do you think?
