Dentist/Periodontist: Your periodontist or family dentist can do the dna testing and identify those. The best preventive measure for periodontitis (gum disease) is removing the bacteria colonies from your teeth and gums especially in between teeth. Use soft tooth brush and floss twice a day. Concentrate on one tooth at a time, take your time. At first you will have some bleeding & soreness due to the infection.

Active Treatment: A.A. Is typically found in aggressive and juvenile forms of gum disease and being 59, you may not have that. The bacteria can be cultured and then treated with appropriate antibiotics, in conjunction with active treatment, i.e. Deep cleaning or surgery.
