I get a headache and then the side portion of my vision is blurry. is it just a migraine or something else?

Probably migraine: The "blurry vision" is because your autonomic (automatic) nervous system is unbalanced, the cause of migraine. Commonest cause? Sugar, sweeteners, diet drinks etc.

Migraine: It is possible that the visual distortion that you describe may represent an aura of a migraine. Migraine auras typically occur one hour prior, at onset, or one within the onset of the headache. If this is a new presentation from your typical headaches check with your physician as further investigation may be necessary. Hope you feel better.
