The heart: Vessel disease treatment is useful, but so is rehab and changing diet that got him there, exercise, and meds to control cholesterol and triglyceridea. Treat cholesterol: Sounds like he is getting widespread "hardening of the arteries" from cholesterol or trigyceride disease. This should be aggressively treated with appropriate medication and diet. Existing deposits can be stabilized, and studies have even shown regression in the most severe cases when treated properly. Discontinue tobacco, if used.
