Yes: A gastrointestinal cocktail, known as a GI cocktail, is a generic term for a mixture of liquid antacid, viscous lidocaine, and an anticholinergic primarily used to treat dyspepsia. It is used to see if the pain is caused by acid reflux or if there are other causes. It is often one of the first things that a patient gets in the er if they are having abdominal/chest pain.

Different types: In anesthesia the GI cocktail is only bicitra, (citric acid and sodium citrate) non particulate antacid. In emergency room they use maalox, viscous Lidocaine and sometimes they add donnatal, antispasmodic. Donnatal can increase your hr and be dangerous for a heart patient.?
