Usually: Some pts have very poor heart function and even a small amount of steroids can cause salt and water rention. This can put the pt at risk for congestive heart failure. Other than this extreme cirumstance, its usually ok. Check with your cardiologist before getting any treatments for congestion.

Can be: There are risks and benefits of various treatments, e.g. If a heart patient is having an acute asthma attack, the steroid shot may help the lungs, which in turn will help the heart. But other times the shot may lead to fluid retention, which may cause side-effects. Symptoms like these deserve a full evaluation in person by your health care provider.
