A member asked:

Does nearsightedness get worse with age or does it level off at some point? at what age does it typically become stable?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Myopia: Most people with myopia typically stabilize in their twenties. Some however can progress even into their late thirties. A very infrequent form of myopia is progressive or degenerative myopia which is problematic. As the eye ages, the lens of the eye hardens which can affect your eye prescription. With cataract formation a condition of worsening myopia may happen.
